Toyota Battery Service in Scranton, PA

Corrosion creates a conduit for power to drain from the battery continuously, even when the vehicle is not running. The Battery Service removes all corrosion and insulates the charge of battery posts from the battery case to inhibit corrosive buildup. The best way to prevent battery problems is with annual preventive maintenance. When you need to clean your battery up near Scranton, Wilkes Barre, or Chinchilla, you’ll want to head to Toyota of Scranton. When you need a better idea of our schedule, you’ll be able to find our hours online.

Understanding Your Battery

There’s a common misunderstanding that your battery makes all the electricity for your vehicle, but this simply isn’t true. Your battery only works to store the electricity that your vehicle puts out with the help of parts like your alternator and serpentine belt. When it fails to store that power though, your model won’t have the voltage it needs to start your vehicle. This can create a stressful situation, especially when you have somewhere that you need to be. Some of the most common causes for dead batteries include:

  • Leaving Something Turned on Inside Your Car
  • An Old Battery
  • And Corrosion

Corrosion can pop up over time and severely inhibit your battery’s ability to store electricity. When you want to solve the issue quickly and effectively, you’ll want to visit Toyota of Scranton.

What Does Corrosion Do?

It’s no secret that corrosion is bad, but you might be wondering what it does to your battery in the first place. Outside of adding to the general wear that your battery will experience, corrosion essentially creates a conduit. When your vehicle is running, your alternator will continually generate power for you to use. When it’s off, however, anything that can drain your battery will eventually kill it, resulting in a vehicle that refuses to start. The conduit that corrosion creates will continually sap your battery once your vehicle is turned off, resulting in a constant drain that will put more stress on your parts. As more corrosion builds up, the effects can be a lot more drastic, so if you want to make sure that your vehicle has no trouble starting, you’ll want to get it handled as soon as possible.

Preventative Measures

Normally, you’d have to wait and hope for the best when it comes to your battery. At Toyota of Scranton, however, we offer services that will help you detect any potential leaks, all while cleaning your battery itself. When you arrive, you’ll want to ask for:

  • Battery Cleaner – Acid Detector: This service offers two main benefits. A foaming cleaner will be used in order to clean any corrosion away from your terminals, cables, and carriers, making sure that your battery doesn’t fall victim to runaway wear. Any leaks will also be assessed with an Acid Detector so that you can be sure you’re not dealing with escaping battery acid.

When you take care of your battery, you’re ensuring that your vehicle is truly reliable. There’s nothing worse than getting stuck in a parking lot, especially when you have no friends to help you jumpstart your model. By opting for this service, you can relax knowing that your battery has everything it needs to function optimally.

When you want to make sure that your battery is in good health, you’ll want to schedule your next service with Toyota of Scranton.
