“What do you like about working at Toyota of Scranton?”

“The people that we work with, the positive environment in general. I like that they buy me lunch often, lol… I like the management support, I get the help I need when I need it… I like that we’re really upfront about how we work with customers. I wouldn’t work at another car dealership.”

“Take me through a typical day in your position.”

“I come in before the rest of the team, so I get a slow start with a coffee and reaching out to customers here for service, hit our daily meeting, look through our inventory, and try to meet new people.”

“What do you like about your current position?”

“I like building relationships with people… Our job is to help the customers in our community experience something special. People don’t buy vehicles everyday, and it can be stressful. My goal is to stay focused on the person I’m working with and make sure their experience is everything it should be. It should be exciting and positive, it should be a moment to remember for a customer, and I want to be a part of that.”

“Where do you see yourself long-term?”

“I’d like to continue to learn and work hard. I feel confident the dealership will provide me opportunities to further my career if I continue my daily effort and enthusiasm.”

Jacob has taken the time to develop himself within the Toyota of Scranton dealership, beginning in the service lane as a valet, to working in the service communications center. Eventually, he transferred over to the sales department where he currently works one-on-one helping customers take home their next great Toyota vehicle. Jacob takes great pride in his current position and enjoys relationship building and helping customers experience something special at the dealership. Staying focused on the person he is working with and making it exciting and positive is the highest priority for Jacob, and hopes that each customer takes home a great experience.

A typical day for Jacob starts slow over a cup of coffee to help kickstart the morning, then he reaches out to various customers depending on what is needed, attends the daily meeting and makes every attempt to interact and engage with everyone who comes to visit Toyota of Scranton. Jacob’s favorite thing about working at the dealership is the positive environment that is nurtured within every team member. He feels extremely supported by management and always gets help when he needs it, as well as enjoys the great practices by the dealership when interacting with customers. Long term, Jacob looks ahead to a great future within Toyota of Scranton, which includes learning as much as possible, continuing to work hard, and trusting that there will be many opportunities for advancement within the dealership that gives him so much satisfaction on a daily basis.
