“I like helping people that don’t understand what is broken and why. I like to educate people on what’s going on. I like to be able to work with other companies in addition to our customers. I like to help our guests and the team with problem solving. Our goal is to explain the more intricate parts of the vehicles more in depth to customers or team members. We also get to help out mechanics get everything they need to get the job done.”
“Take me through a typical day in your position.”
I come in around 7:30, pull the parts orders for the shop, and deliver them to the bays so the technicians can begin repairs. I spend the next portion of the day answering calls and working with customers to help them get the parts they are looking for.
“Where do you see yourself long-term?”
I’d like to continue to learn and grow with the company. Someday, I’d like to be in a leadership position.
Mike has been a part of the Toyota of Scranton team for over four years, serving as a Parts Counter Representative within the parts department. Mike plays a huge role in educating customers about their vehicle, and helps them understand which component is broken and why. Problem solving with customers is a huge part of Mike’s day to day, and helps to explain the intricate parts of vehicles to both customers and other team members. With his extensive knowledge and understanding of vehicle components, Mike helps out the team’s mechanics by getting them everything they need in order to get each vehicle working properly.
Mike starts every day around 7:30 AM, and begins by pulling all the part orders for the shop to make sure everything gets to the technicians so repairs can begin for the day. Much of the rest of Mike’s time is spent answering phone calls of customer inquiries, and working face to face with many people looking for parts or components for their vehicle. The biggest part of working for Toyota of Scranton for Mike is that he enjoys the collaboration between everyone at the dealership, and even in such a big dealership with dozens of staff, feels as though his voice is heard and his opinion is meaningful to others. Mike has big plans for his future, with aims to grow into a leadership position by learning and growing with support from Toyota of Scranton, and experiencing a bright future within the company.
