An All-Electric SUV | The Toyota BZ4X

September 2nd, 2021 by

Toyota unveils the all-new Toyota BZ4X, bringing the first of hopefully many battery-operated electric SUVs to one of America’s top-selling automobile brands. Many already recognize Toyota as a pioneer in clean driving, with their flagship hybrid vehicle the Toyota Prius, which has been in production for over twenty years. Toyota also already has many of their most popular brands available as hybrid models including the Venza, the RAV4, the Corolla, the Avalon, and more. Toyota brings on the BZX4 as an entirely new concept of vehicles for their brand, and hope to use the platform to expand their horizons in any direction possible.

A Newly Capable SUV

The technology for creating capable and efficient electric cars is growing at a rapid pace as more and more automakers turn towards an electric future. The newest BZX4 is designed in a very similar fashion as the Toyota RAV4 but contains a ton of bells and whistles that are beyond any of Toyota’s previous capabilities. The BZX4 is the brand’s first-ever battery-operated fully electric vehicle that is bound to rise to any occasion and carry on the Toyota legacy of reliability and durability. As the trend of strong vehicles continues to rise, the BZ4X is equipped with powerful, all-wheel-drive that is bound to turn the tides of the future of the electric Toyota SUV lineup.

Rethinking the Interior

While the outside is reminiscent of past Toyota SUVs, the interior is an all-new area of space, comfort, and safety. The center console is unlike anything Toyota has yet seen, with a cleaner design in an entirely new concept. The overall screen and control buttons have been lowered allowing for a larger and more spacious interior feel with the added benefit of a larger windshield for top visibility for both the driver and the vehicle’s safety systems. The vehicle also gives a strong sense of spaciousness, a ton of headroom with hip and shoulder room thanks to the overall interior design. The driver informational display screen is all digital and placed higher above the steering wheel so drivers can easily monitor their vehicle’s essential stats closer to their eye line.

Toyota’s Pledge to the Future

Toyota looks ahead to the future of clean and efficient vehicles with a huge commitment to growing their lineup of electric vehicles. The plan from Toyota is to release 70 electric models around the world by the year 2025, with a more imminent release of nearly 15 models. The brand plans to release many under the umbrella of the “BZ” brand, which is an acronym of “Before Zero.” This vehicle in particular was the dream of both Toyota and Subaru, with Subaru releasing a similar vehicle under the name the Subaru Solterra. Toyota doesn’t plan on stopping at just SUVs and Sedans but looks ahead to a future lineup of powerful all-electric pickup trucks as well. The BZ4X release is coming up very quickly, with plans for widespread sale in 2022.
